Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use

Find My Local · Version 1.0 · Effective 30 July 2026

Find My Local works only if neighbours can trust each other. These Guidelines apply to everyone — Users and Helpers, in the app and in the real-world interactions the app arranges. Breach of these Guidelines is a breach of our Terms of Service.

1. Respect people

2. Be honest

3. Keep interactions lawful and safe

4. Respect privacy and the platform

5. How enforcement works

Every profile, chat, review, alert, and Work Post can be reported in-app, and you can block any user. Reports are reviewed by trust-and-safety staff, assisted by automated safety rules that flag content for human review — automation helps us act fast, but it cannot catch everything.

Depending on severity and history, we may remove content, warn, restrict features, suspend, permanently ban, or adjust the Community Trust Index (always with a recorded reason). Serious matters — violence, child safety, sexual misconduct, fraud, illegal services — lead to immediate permanent bans and referral to law enforcement. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours and honour the shorter statutory timelines where they apply, including 36 hours for content complained of as unlawful and 2 hours for sexual, impersonation, or morphed/deepfake imagery.

When we action your content or account, we tell you what and why (unless the law prevents it or notice would endanger someone). You can appeal any suspension, ban, or Community Trust Index adjustment in-app, complain to our Grievance Officer, and escalate content grievances to the Grievance Appellate Committee — see our Grievance Redressal page.

These Guidelines are not legal advice, and following them does not guarantee safety. In an emergency, call 112 first — Find My Local is not a substitute for police, ambulance, fire, or other emergency services.
